Back to Basics

We are so excited to share our Back to Basics cooking class with you! We wouldn't call this a "traditional" cooking class - it's a lot like sitting in the kitchen at our house. We aren't polished, we aren't perfect, but I promise we're real. We're busy and tired at the end of the day and all we want to do is find a quick meal the family will eat. These basics are a great way to impress without the stress.

Grocery List

  • Any protein (Poultry, Beef, Seafood or Pork)

  • Chopped or Sliced Onions (1/2 cup or so)

  • Green Beans - 1lb Fresh preferred but can use canned too

  • Rotini cooked or favorite noodle of choice

  • Tomatoes diced (1/2 cup) you can use canned too (please drain well)

  • Parmesan Cheese shredded (1/4 to 1/2 cup)

  • Angel Food Cake or favorite cake of choice including donut holes

  • Small french bread loaf - shredded in bite size pieces or cubed

  • Fresh Berries or fruit of choice

  • Vanilla Ice Cream or plain yogurt

  • Berry Seltzer, iced tea, lemonade or even water

Please be aware that this grocery list is for suggestion only. Green Bay Olive Oil Company's products are meant to be used in conjunction with what you have already in your private stock.

You will find by using these basic items in everyday cooking that you can add gourmet flavor without all the time, effort, thought process of ideas and just enjoyment of bringing the cooking back home.

Have some fun and experiment with all the flavors on several types of the foods laid out!

  • Add garlic to your poultry and onions to serve over green beans, rice or noodles

  • Add raspberry to vanilla ice cream

  • Want some heat? Add the Citrus Habanero to a chocolate brownie or any of your favorite things. My favorite is my beef nachos!

  • Tuscan herb is excellent in noodles with fresh tomatoes, parmesan cheese and sprinkled sea salt!

  • Lemon Balsamic poured into a beverage, over fresh fruit and even on baked goods.
